Bring on 2021!

With reminders every day of how lucky we are to be living in NZ - some say Godzone and who are we to argue with New Year’s celebrations just like they were last year, music festivals going ahead and of course all those gatherings where we didn’t have to worry about headcounts!

But for many, including most of the rest of the world, 2021 hasn’t started with the burst of optimism most had hoped.  Close to home there has been tragedy with a road toll in double digits and water fatalities higher than ever before, and for the rest of the world there has been major disruption, fear and unrest.  

Here at No8HR we’ve been reflecting on what we need to keep our focus on, both internally and externally in 2021.  Externally, of course, our clients and applicants always get first mention and we look forward to continuing to work with you in 2021.  Internally we’re continuing to look at the macro economic and social environment for clues as to what remains and will evolve as pertinent as the year progresses.

So for us, the old nuggets of safety and performance remain key focuses for our business this year and, for 2021 we’re adding in optimism.…with a side of pragmatism.   2021 will no doubt be full of challenges (isn’t every year), and we want to make sure that the gains and learnings we’ve all had, both in business, personally and in our communities gets converted into something positive in 2021.  So optimism in our key ingredient for 2021….what’s yours?
